Instead, be filled with the Spirit, speaking to one another with psalms, hymns, and songs from the Spirit. Sing and make music from your heart to the Lord, always giving thanks to God the Father for everything, in the name of our Lord Jesus Christ.
Ephesians 5:18b-20
What is Worship?
The heart of worship is God--Father, Son, and Holy Spirit--and what God does. Worship is not about us, our faith, or our experiences. God does not need us to tell him how glorious and holy he is, as if his ego needs stroking. Rather, the Holy Spirit gathers us together so God can give us the gifts of forgiveness, life, salvation, and God's very self through his one and only Son, Jesus Christ, our Lord and Savior. God speaks to us through Jesus who is the Living Word, the written Word of Scripture, the proclaimed Word in the sermon and hymns, and the tangible Words of Baptism and Holy Communion. We respond with prayer, praise, and service.
We typically celebrate Holy Communion weekly. Our Lord Jesus invites all believers to join him in fellowship at his table where we receive his real presence in the bread and wine as a gift given for you for the forgiveness of your sins. Remember what Christ has done for you. Trust and believe. Come and be the guest of our Savior!

- For those with small children, please know that they are welcome in worship!
- If you do not wish to receive communion, you may come forward and keep your hands folded in prayer and receive a blessing.
- Children may receive Holy Communion at any age at their parents’ discretion.
Children Are Welcome in Worship! |
Jesus fully welcomed the little children and embraced them. So do we! Bringing children to worship is similar to allowing children to eat at the dinner table. Even though their manners are far from elegant, it's done because our children are fully members of the family. How else will they learn? Plus they need to be fed!
Children giggle, poke, and swing their legs because they are children. They also pray, sing, and give their offerings. Bringing a child to worship can be a real exercise in patience, but the rewards are well worth the effort. While we do not want our children to be disruptive or hamper the worship experience, we also need to remind one another that children are baptized members of the congregation and full members of God's family. Children need to participate, in their own way, to grow in understanding of God's love and to affirm their place in God's family. |
Jesus took a little child whom he placed among them. Taking the child in his arms, he said to them, "Whoever welcomes one of these little children in my name welcomes me . . . !" |
Music Ministries
Have you been given the gift of music? Our adult choir and chimers (Grace Notes) provide wonderful music during worship. Contact us to find out when and where rehearsals are being held or check the calendar.
Worship Committee & Altar Guild
The worship committee and music ministries work with the pastor to plan worship services throughout the year. The altar guild is responsible for setting up the altar, preparing Holy Communion and the Baptismal font. They also beautify our sanctuary. Please contact us if you would like to help!
